Freak Traction is pleased to announce the addition of 20 year old, Woody Harris, to the FREAK TEAM. Woody is COMPLETELY committed to SKIMBOARDING. In 2008, Woody posted a solid RESULT on the UST TOUR. WOODY is beginning to make a mark. Look for more good things from this guy in ’09.

Freak is Super pumped To DEBUT rider Brad Domke’s signature pad, aptly named “The Dom”. Brad worked closely with us in designing his own personal pad. “The Dom” features a 7 mm arch pushed forward, ahead of a nice and steep 27 mm kick tail with a slightly rolled top. Freak will offer new matching color arch bars, deeper Posi + cuts, and a slightly softer foam.
Note 10 other new styles and heaps of new color combos. Look for these pads among others soon!

MANNY WAS PUMPED!

Word has it, Brad was releasing a little steam from being cooped up and recouping his recent ankle plate removal at the the Mickey Avalon Concert. Brad was seen doing flips off the stage and crowd surfing. We’re guessing his new ankle is feeling pretty good!

Freak Rider, Scott Scrappy Flores, chased the recent bombing west swell down to Cabo with Sean Ward for some more filming. Word has it they are scoring hard and its quite large.

The first Skim USA tour event of ’09.
The Boardwalk Blow up saw some rippable conditions throughout the two days. The event saw a solid talent field of both Am’s and Pro’s from mostly up and down the Eastern seaboard and Gulf Coast. Special Thanks to Skim City Greg, Harry Wilson, and “all” that worked tirelessly to put on a top level skim event. Freak was stoked to hang and see all the new young bloods pushing the level. The Freak Team was in Top form.

Freak Flat Land Rider, Matt Ratoni, realized his dreams last week in winning at the 2009 “Frankston Skim Series” held in Frankston, Australia. Matt has always wanted to bring his act overseas; as well, make new friends down under. Matt did all of the above, and took the WIN in the Open Division beating out John Turville and Matt Peters. Congrats, Matt, looks like the New Freak Flat Land 6 pack deck is off to a good start. Thanks for Rocking it in Aus! Matt

A GOOD DEED
Jason Wilson is always making good things happen. For a recent Skim LOVE program JDUB put on a Skim Clinic for the Children of Gregory Town on the beautiful island of Eleuthera. Father Harry Wilson, John Akerman and other helpful locals, All lent a hand to teach the Kids SKIM 101 along with other life lessons like sharing and caring. The Day finished up with a Trash clean up where Kids filled 15 plus Bags of Trash and pulled abandon TV’s off the streets along with other rubbish. Many special awards and happy faces thanks to Zap who donated about 9 Skim Boards and T-shirts. Freak was really proud to hand out some grips. Another great event put on by Skim USA and Skim City. 120 plus competitors deserve a metal of honor for bearing the frigid conditions throughout the event.

Heaps of prizes and cool trophies given out to top finalists. The Pro division saw an action packed final with the win going to Brad Domke with a mix of air spins and wraps. Other Freak riders, Alex Hood, was in the running along with Corbin Dull, but Brad’s tech approach got him the nod with the best of 5. Congrats to all that participated and made for an entertaining weekend!
